"Cycling for Children".
On July 12 & 13 a local resident will cycle 200kms to raise money for schools in developing nations. Kelly Brown, will participate in the "Central Alberta" tour, which sees participants cycling from Sylvan Lake to Caroline on Saturday July 12 and then back again on the 13th. The ride is part of an organization called "Chalice" - 100% of the money raised from the "Cycling for Children" bike tours will go directly to projects in the developing world, towards the building/repair of several schools in Asia, Africa and South America. It will not be used for administration in any way. ... We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and lack of opportunity.
For more information about this amazing organization please visit their website @ www.chalice.ca.

Silent Auction Fundraiser
Dear Friend,
If you are reading this, you have one of life’s greatest gifts – your sight.
Two members of our community - Mark Rawleigh, age 9 and Dean Rawleigh, age 12 have started to lose their vision. They have been diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP).
RP is a group of degenerative eye diseases of the retina for which there is no cure. Most individuals have a progressive loss of vision including night blindness, loss of peripheral vision, tunnel vision and complete blindness.
A benevolent fund has been set up for Dean and Mark, to assist them in any way possible, to allow them to keep their sight.
We are seeking your support by way of donations in order to help both Dean and Mark. A silent auction, dinner and dance will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Good Shepherd Church, 6311 Norfolk Drive, NW, to raise funds for the boys. Any items that you would like to donate to the silent auction would be greatly appreciated. Tickets can also be purchased by calling Ann Tyrell at 274-4496 or Laura Neuls at 686-4950.
Sincerely,
RP Benevolent Fund*
Friends of Mark and Dean Rawleigh
